PRERNA:
Under Thalassemia Program, an association has been formed constituting of Thallassemic children and their respective families, namely “PRERNA” by Prathama. In order to keep these children and their families in the best of spirits and to bring out their best potentials, entertaining programs like Magic Show, Bhajan, Puppet Show, and Singing Competition have been organized from time to time.
Prathama also invite doctors to share their knowledge on Thallassemic care like foods to take, medication, surgery etc. As part of the program parents shares their experiences, suggests cheaper means of medication. This interaction is directly or indirectly helps the families. It also inspires other families who make the best of this forum and incorporate the best ideas to treat their ailing child.
Prathama also invites prominent people to associate with the good cause and to distribute free coupons to thalassemia affected children which will enable the family to take blood from Prathama free of cost. We are very glad to see the response the program has evoked amongst these groups.
