Sponsorship Program:

Every day at least 4 children visit Prathama Blood Centre for blood to stay alive. Another 15 poorest patients visit Prathama for blood components from various hospitals. Our efforts are always directed to provide them high quality blood components so that their body could easily accept and respond. Your direct support to such a cause will go a long way to help the less fortunate entities. Because of your support we could tell them “ Don't worry. There is someone to take care. Always!”

Your contribution is separately accounted and disbursed to help the needy patients. At the end of the year, we will provide you details of all the needy and poor patients whose lives are saved by your support and sponsorship.

1. Thalassemia & Hemophilia Sponsorship Program

Thalassemia and Hemophilia are some of the genetic blood disorders

Ten thousand Thalassemic children are born every year in India . Which constitutes 10% of the total Thalassemics in the world. It is commoner in Sindhis, Punjabis, Gujaratis, Lohana etc.

Family of Thalassemic child undergo huge suffering and pain, pain of watching the child getting repeated transfusions, iron overload and retarded growth and huge expenses. The Thalassemia child needs blood transfusion as routine (once in 3-4 weeks) and in almost all cases would proceed to slow and painful death by 10-20 years of age. If they get good quality blood product they can survive longer. Thalassemia continues to shatter many a families financially and emotionally.

2. Poor Patient Support Program

Many poor patients in government hospitals and private dispensaries often struggle to pay the hospital bill and find it very difficult to manage blood when required. They ultimately depend on paid professional donors for replacement and risk their life. Cash donations to such patients may not be of help as they need blood without replacement. Prathama provides blood without replacement but they find difficulties in meeting the cost.

We request you to support such poor patients in government or municipal hospitals, or private dispensaries. “Blood Component Gift Voucher's are issued which comes in 500 and 1000 denomination. You can either give these “Gift Voucher's to patients in such hospitals who can redeem it to get blood components for free from Prathama. They are given without replacement.

3. Blood Support Group

To save some one's life out of your busy schedule is a noble deed. Especially, when 300 odd people need blood every day and they can get it because of our busy schedules. Prathama invites you to support the cause of blood safety and availability to every needy patient without replacement and at affordable cost. You can support the cause through becoming a regular blood donor for a Thalassemic person.

A group of people can schedule their donations at regular intervals and donate blood through out the year for the Thalassemic Child. This will assure blood in time. Our Recall Centre will extend you needed support by coordinating with the Thalassemic person, by tracking their need and also fixing your appointment at blood centre at that time. By this way you can be of great support to the society.
