This program has commenced with an objective of providing safe, quality blood product in time to every needy Thalassemia person round the clock.
In order to keep the family going, this program aids/assists the family in continuing the treatment without any hitch, by arranging a financial donor who adopts a child or group of children for 1 year or more. Sponsorship is solicited from individuals and institutions where the child gets fee blood products all the time from Prathama.
Who can adopt a Thalassemia Child
How it works
A Sponsor can adopt a child or group of children for 1 year or more. A simple form is available on this website that guides you to adoption program. You have to fill up the form. Prathama converts financial donations under adoption program into ‘coupons’ for receiving blood components by the child. These coupons are distributed directly to the thalassemia children who are registered at Prathama. There are more than 100 children already registered with the organization awaiting for financial assistance.
Response from the Society
Thallassemia Adoption Program is welcomed by all prominent Individuals, Professionals, Corporate and Charitable Trusts. Till date we have received financial contribution from the above mentioned sources to keep the blood supply live to many children registered with us. About 80 children have been adopted till date and many more are in waiting.
