500 Life Savers Donated Blood

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day (14th June) 500 Voluntary blood donors donated blood at Prathama. On this special day, Prathama had organized Voluntary blood donation drives at 9 places (including Centre). In spite of routine working day response of life savers was overwhelming. Donors form different areas chose to donate blood at their nearby drive from morning 8a.m. till 9.p.m. in the night.
World Blood Donor Day is celebrated to spread awareness about importance of voluntary blood donation. Prathama from last 18 years is continuously working towards spreading awareness about this noble cause and has played a major role in improvement of Indian blood banking. The event serves to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. This year host country for World Blood Donor Day was Rawada and theme of the day was “Safe Blood For All”. In this direction also, Prathma initiated in the year 2016 and introduced Nucleic Amplified Testing (NAT) facility. This ensures safest blood to needy patients. Over and above this Prathama from its first day of operations makes available blood components to patients on “No Replacement” basis.

Alike every year this year also we got overwhelming response form our voluntary blood donors. We thank all individuals and organizations associated with us for their support and making this day more special by donating 500 units of blood that will result in saving many lives and families.1
