Prathama Blood Centre organized,Thalassemia Awareness program at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology (SVIT), Vadad on 28th July,2018. Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder. There are 25% chances of Thalassemia major child birth, when both the parents are Thalassemia Minor. Birth of Thalassemia child can only be stopped by spreading awareness about this blood disorder and its prevention. Thalassemia can only be prevented by making youth aware about the same.
Today at SVIT Vasad, almost 350 students participated in awareness session and made this event successful. In next step Thalassemia testing will be conducted to identify Thalassemia Minor trait.
