Prathama Blood Centre proudly celebrated World Blood Donor Day 2026 on Sunday, 14th June, with a special event dedicated to recognizing and honoring the invaluable contribution of women blood donors. The program was organized from 10:00am to 1:00pm and witnessed enthusiastic participation from regular voluntary blood donors and members of the blood centre team.
The highlight of the celebration was the felicitation of 30 dedicated female blood donors who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to saving lives through regular voluntary blood donation. The event was graced by Dr. Ketul Amin, Joint Director, Gujarat State Council for Blood Transfusion (GSCBT), who attended as the Chief Guest. Dr. Amin congratulated the donors for their noble efforts and personally felicitated all the honored donors and expressed gratitude for their continued support of the blood donation movement.
An interactive session was conducted during which several donors shared their personal experiences and motivations for donating blood regularly. Their inspiring stories highlighted the humanitarian impact of voluntary blood donation and encouraged others to become regular donors. Participants were also taken on a guided tour of Prathama Blood Centre by Dr. Nirali, where they were introduced to various processes involved in blood collection, testing, component preparation, storage, and distribution. The tour helped donors gain a deeper understanding of the rigorous quality and safety measures followed by the blood centre.
The celebration concluded with a fellowship lunch, providing an opportunity for donors, guests, and staff members to interact and strengthen their bond as partners in saving lives. The event successfully honored the dedication of women blood donors and reaffirmed Prathama Blood Centre's commitment to promoting voluntary blood donation and recognizing the individuals who make this lifesaving mission possible. Prathama Blood Centre extends its heartfelt appreciation to all donors, guests, and staff members whose participation made the World Blood Donor Day celebration a memorable and meaningful occasion.
